T. Bergfeld (CLEO Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports the observation of the decay mode B+ to omega K+ and provides measurements and limits for various charmless B meson decays, aiding theoretical understanding of these processes.
Contribution
First observation of B+ to omega K+ decay and measurement of its branching fraction, along with evidence for phi K* and limits for other modes.
Findings
Observed B+ to omega K+ decay with branching fraction ~1.5 x 10^-5
Evidence found for phi K* decay mode
Set upper limits for 22 other decay modes
Abstract
We have searched for two-body charmless decays of B mesons to purely hadronic exclusive final states including or mesons using data collected with the CLEO II detector. With this sample of B mesons we observe a signal for the final state, and measure a branching fraction of B() = 1.5 +0.7 -0.6 +-0.2 . We also observe some evidence for the final state, and upper limits are given for 22 other decay modes. These results provide the opportunity for studies of theoretical models and physical parameters.
