Scintillation Counters for the D0 Muon Upgrade
D0 Collaboration

TL;DR
This paper reports on the upgrade of the D0 muon system with scintillating counters to improve background rejection and timing, demonstrating enhanced performance during the 1994-1996 Tevatron run.
Contribution
Introduction of scintillating counters to the D0 muon system for improved background rejection and timing in a high-energy physics experiment.
Findings
Effective rejection of cosmic ray muons achieved.
Enhanced timing information obtained for muons.
Successful deployment during the 1994-1996 Tevatron run.
Abstract
We present the results of an upgrade to the D0 muon system. Scintillating counters have been added to the existing central D0 muon system to provide rejection for cosmic ray muons and out-of-time background, and to provide additional fast timing information for muons in an upgraded Tevatron. Performance and results from the 1994-1996 Tevatron run are presented.
