Combined QCD analysis of e^+ e^- data at sqrt(s) = 14 to 172 GeV
O. Biebel (RWTH-Aachen)

TL;DR
This paper analyzes how event shape observables depend on energy in e^+ e^- collisions and determines the strong coupling constant _s from these measurements, accounting for hadronization effects.
Contribution
It provides a combined QCD analysis of e^+ e^- data across a wide energy range, incorporating power corrections for more accurate _s determination.
Findings
_s was measured at various energies with improved accuracy.
Power corrections effectively model hadronization effects.
Energy dependence of event shape observables is characterized.
Abstract
A study of the energy dependence of event shape observables is presented. The strong coupling constant \alpha_s has been determined from the mean values of six event shape observables. Power corrections, employed for the measurement of \alpha_s, have been found to approximately account for hadronisation effects.
