Search for Right-Handed $W$ Bosons and Heavy $W^\prime$ in $p\bar p$ Collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$1.8 TeV
S. Abachi, et al. (D0 Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports a search for right-handed W bosons ($W_R$) at the Fermilab Tevatron, setting new mass limits based on electron decay channels, and also constrains heavy $W^ extprime$ bosons with various neutrino mass assumptions.
Contribution
First to set experimental mass limits on $W_R$ and $W^ extprime$ bosons using Tevatron data, independent of neutrino decay modes.
Findings
Excluded $W_R$ masses below 650 GeV/c$^2$ for certain neutrino masses.
Set a new lower limit of 720 GeV/c$^2$ on $W^ extprime$ mass.
Provided constraints on $W_R$ for larger neutrino masses assuming specific decay channels.
Abstract
We report on a search for right-handed bosons (). We used data collected with the D{\O} detector at the Fermilab Tevatron collider at 1.8 TeV to search for decays into an electron and a massive right-handed neutrino . Using the inclusive electron data, we set mass limits independent of the decay: GeV/c and GeV/c at the 95% confidence level, valid for and respectively. The latter also represents a new lower limit on the mass of a heavy left-handed boson () decaying into . In addition, limits on valid for larger values of the mass are obtained assuming that decays to an electron and two jets.
