Measurement of Elastic $\rho^0$ Photoproduction at HERA
The ZEUS Collaboration

TL;DR
This paper reports the measurement of elastic rho^0 photoproduction at HERA, analyzing cross sections and t-dependence, and finding weak energy dependence and helicity conservation at energies between 60 and 80 GeV.
Contribution
First measurement of elastic rho^0 photoproduction cross sections and t-dependence at HERA energies between 60 and 80 GeV, confirming helicity conservation.
Findings
Measured cross section: 14.7 ± 0.4 (stat.) ± 2.4 (syst.) μb
t-slope parameter: 9.9 ± 1.2 (stat.) ± 1.4 (syst.) μb
Weak energy dependence observed in cross sections and t-slope
Abstract
Elastic photoproduction has been measured using the ZEUS detector at HERA. Untagged photoproduction events from interactions were used to measure the reaction () at photon-proton centre-of-mass energies between 60 and 80~GeV and ~GeV, where is the square of the four-momentum transferred at the proton vertex. The differential cross section , where is the invariant mass of the two pions, and the integrated cross section, , are presented; the latter was measured to be . The differential cross section has an approximately exponential shape; a fit of the type yields a -slope…
