Search for $W$ boson pair production in $p\bar{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}~=~1.8~$~TeV
S. Abachi, et al. (D0 Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports a search for $W$ boson pair production in proton-antiproton collisions at 1.8 TeV, observing one event against background expectations, and sets limits on anomalous gauge boson couplings.
Contribution
It provides the first experimental limits on anomalous $WWZ$ and $WW\gamma$ couplings at this energy level using dilepton decay channels.
Findings
Observed one event with expected background of 0.56 events.
Set limits on anomalous coupling parameters: -2.6<Δκ<2.8 and -2.2<λ<2.2.
Constrained gauge boson self-interactions at TeV energies.
Abstract
The results of a search for boson pair production in collisions at TeV with subsequent decay to dilepton (, and ) channels are presented. One event is observed with an expected background of events with an integrated luminosity of approximately 14 pb. % pb. Assuming equal strengths for the and gauge boson coupling parameters and , limits on the CP-conserving anomalous coupling constants are and at the 95% confidence level.
