Measurement of sin2beta in tree-dominated B0-decays and ambiguity removal
Heiko Lacker (from the BABAR Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reviews recent B-factory measurements of CP asymmetries in B0-decays, focusing on determining sin2beta and reducing ambiguities in the unitarity triangle through cos2beta measurements.
Contribution
It summarizes experimental results on cos2beta, aiding in ambiguity removal in the determination of the unitarity triangle angle beta.
Findings
Measurement of sin2beta consistent with Standard Model
Evidence for sign of cos2beta to reduce ambiguity
Enhanced understanding of CP violation in B decays
Abstract
The most recent results from the B-factories on the time-dependent CP asymmetries measured in B0-decays mediated by b --> c c(bar) s quark-transitions are reviewed. The Standard Model interpretation of the results in terms of the parameter sin2beta leads to a four-fold ambiguity on the unitarity triangle beta which can be reduced to a two-fold ambiguity by measuring the sign of the parameter cos2beta. The results on cos2beta obtained so far are reviewed.
