TL;DR
This paper analyzes di-hadron correlations in proton-proton collisions at 200 GeV to extract jet properties and understand partonic intrinsic momentum effects on high transverse momentum hadron production.
Contribution
It provides a measurement of the partonic intrinsic momentum from azimuthal correlations in p+p collisions at 200 GeV, offering insights into jet formation and kT-smearing effects.
Findings
Measured intrinsic partonic momentum $\sqrt{\left<k^2_T ight>} = 2.68 ext{ GeV/c}$
Analyzed azimuthal correlations to determine jet properties
Discussed impact of kT-smearing on inclusive $\pi^0$ cross sections
Abstract
An analysis of high pT hadron spectra associated with high pT particles in p+p collisions at s**(1/2) = 200-GeV is presented. The shape of the azimuthal angular correlation is used to determine the value of partonic intrinsic momentum GeV/c. The effect of kT-smearing of inclusive cross section is discussed.
