A New Search for tau -> mu gamma and tau -> e gamma Decays at Belle
The Belle Collaboration: K. Abe, et al

TL;DR
This paper reports an updated search for rare tau decays involving lepton flavor violation at Belle, setting new upper limits on their branching ratios after analyzing 535/fb of data.
Contribution
The study provides the first updated limits on tau -> mu gamma and tau -> e gamma decays using a large dataset from Belle, improving previous constraints.
Findings
No signal observed for the decays.
Upper limits set at B(tau -> mu gamma) < 4.5x10^-8.
Upper limit for B(tau -> e gamma) < 1.2x10^-7.
Abstract
We update our search for the lepton flavor violating tau -> mu gamma and tau -> e gamma decays based on 535/fb of data accumulated at the Belle experiment. No signal is found and we set preliminary 90% confidence level upper limits: B(tau -> mu gamma) < 4.5x 10^-8 and B(tau -> e gamma) < 1.2x 10^-7.
