Measurement of the near-threshold $e^+e^- \to D^{(*)\pm}{D}{}^{*\mp}$ cross section using initial-state radiation
Belle Collaboration

TL;DR
This paper measures the cross section of specific charm meson pair production near threshold energies using initial-state radiation, employing a partial reconstruction method to enhance efficiency and reduce background.
Contribution
It provides the first detailed measurement of the $e^+e^- o D^{(*) ext{±}} D^{* ext{∓}}$ cross section near threshold with initial-state radiation, utilizing a large data sample and a novel partial reconstruction technique.
Findings
Cross section measurements as a function of energy near threshold
Observation of threshold behavior and possible resonant structures
Enhanced measurement precision through partial reconstruction
Abstract
We report a measurement of the exclusive cross section as a function of center-of-mass energy near the threshold with initial state radiation. A partial reconstruction technique is used to increase the efficiency and to suppress background. The analysis is based on a data sample collected with the Belle detector at the resonance and nearby continuum with an integrated luminosity of 547.8 at the KEKB asymmetric-energy collider.
