Measurements of the cross sections for $e^+e^- \to {\rm hadrons}$ at 3.650, 3.6648, 3.773 GeV and the branching fraction for $\psi(3770)\to {\rm non-}D\bar D$

TL;DR
This paper reports measurements of the cross sections and R values for hadronic production at specific energies near 3.7 GeV, and determines the branching fractions of the $ ext{psi}(3770)$ to D mesons and non-D meson decays, providing insights into charmonium decay modes.
Contribution
First precise measurements of R values and cross sections at these energies, along with detailed branching fractions for $ ext{psi}(3770)$ decays, enhancing understanding of charmonium decay channels.
Findings
Measured R values at 3.650, 3.6648, and 3.773 GeV.
Determined $ ext{psi}(3770)$ production cross section and decay branching fractions.
Found the non-$Dar D$ decay fraction of $ ext{psi}(3770)$ to be approximately 16.1%.
Abstract
Using the BES-II detector at the BEPC Collider, we measured the lowest order cross sections and the values () for inclusive hadronic event production at the center-of-mass energies of 3.650 GeV, 3.6648 GeV and 3.773 GeV. The results lead to which is the average of these measured at 3.650 GeV and 3.6648 GeV, and at GeV. We determined the lowest order cross section for production to be at 3.773 GeV, the branching fractions for decays to be , and , which result in the total…
