Observation of a chi'_(c2) candidate in gamma gamma --> D Dbar production at Belle
The Belle Collaboration: S.Uehara, et al

TL;DR
This paper reports the observation of a new chi'_(c2) charmonium state near 3.93 GeV/c^2 in gamma gamma --> D Dbar production at Belle, providing evidence for a predicted but previously unobserved state.
Contribution
First experimental evidence for the chi'_(c2) state in gamma gamma collisions, confirming theoretical predictions of the 2^3P_2 charmonium state.
Findings
Observation of a candidate chi'_(c2) state near 3.93 GeV/c^2.
Production rate and angular distribution support its identification as chi'_(c2).
Provides new data on charmonium spectroscopy.
Abstract
We report on a search for new resonant states in the process gamma gamma --> D Dbar. A candidate C-even charmonium state is observed in the vicinity of 3.93 GeV/c^2. The production rate and the angular distribution in the gamma gamma center-of-mass frame suggest that this state is the previously unobserved chi'_(c2), the 2^3P_2 charmonium state.
