TL;DR
This paper reports precise measurements of the ratios of branching fractions for specific D* and D_s* meson decays, providing improved data for understanding isospin-violating processes in charm mesons.
Contribution
The study presents the first high-precision measurements of these branching ratios, significantly refining previous world average values.
Findings
Measured $rac{ ext{Gamma}(D_s^{*+} o D_s^+ ext{pi}^0)}{ ext{Gamma}(D_s^{*+} o D_s^+ ext{gamma})} = 0.062 \
Measured $rac{ ext{Gamma}(D^{*0} o D^0 ext{pi}^0)}{ ext{Gamma}(D^{*0} o D^0 ext{gamma})} = 1.74 \
Both measurements are more precise than previous world averages.
Abstract
Data samples corresponding to the isospin-violating decay and the decays , and are reconstructed using 90.4 of data recorded by the BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy collider. The following branching ratios are extracted: and . Both measurements represent significant improvements over present world averages.
