Search for W and Z Bosons in the Reaction \bar{p}p \to 2 jets + \gamma at \sqrt{s} = 1.8 TeV
CDF collaboration: D. Acosta, et al

TL;DR
This paper analyzes the production of W and Z bosons in proton-antiproton collisions at 1.8 TeV by examining the dijet invariant mass distribution in events with a photon, aiming to set limits on their production cross section.
Contribution
It provides the first detailed comparison of data with predictions for W/Z plus photon production with hadronic decays at Tevatron energies.
Findings
No significant excess observed in dijet mass distribution.
Established upper limits on the cross section for W/Z plus photon production.
Improved constraints on electroweak processes involving photons and jets.
Abstract
We present a study of the dijet invariant mass distribution for the reaction jets, at a center of mass energy of 1.8 TeV, using data collected by the CDF experiment. We compare the data to predictions for the production of a photon with two jets, together with the resonant processes , in which the and bosons decay hadronically. A fit is made to the dijet invariant mass distribution combining the non-resonant background and resonant processes. We use the result to establish a limit for the inclusive production cross section of with hadronic decay of the and bosons.
