Nuclear effects in high-p_T production of direct photons and neutral mesons
Fermilab E706 Collaboration: L. Apanasevich, et al

TL;DR
This paper reports experimental measurements of high transverse momentum direct photons and mesons produced in proton and pion collisions with nuclear targets, exploring nuclear effects at large p_T.
Contribution
It provides new data on high-p_T particle production in nuclear collisions at energies of 530-800 GeV/c, extending the kinematic range of previous studies.
Findings
Data covers 1.0 < p_T < 10 GeV/c at central rapidities.
Results include production rates of direct photons, pi0, and eta mesons.
Experiments used copper and beryllium targets.
Abstract
We present results on the production of direct photons, pizero, and eta mesons on nuclear targets at large transverse momenta (p_T). The data are from 530 and 800 GeV/c proton beams and 515 GeV/c piminus beams incident upon copper and beryllium targets that span the kinematic range of 1.0 < p_T < 10 GeV/c at central rapidities.
