TL;DR
This paper measures the phase variation of the sigma to pi-pi amplitude in J/Psi decays, confirming its consistency with elastic scattering data through interference analysis.
Contribution
It provides a precise determination of the sigma -> pi-pi phase variation in J/Psi decays using interference with the b1(1235)-pi amplitude.
Findings
Phase variation agrees with pi-pi elastic scattering
Accurate phase measurement from BES II data
Interference method effectively determines amplitude phase
Abstract
The phase variation of the sigma -> pi-pi amplitude is accurately determined as a function of mass from BES II data for J/Psi -> omega-pi-pi. The determination arises from interference with the strong b1(1235)-pi amplitude. The observed phase variation agrees within errors with that in pi-pi elastic scattering.
