Observation of the D1(2420)->DPI+PI- decays
The Belle Collaboration

TL;DR
This paper reports the first observation of the decay D1(2420) to D pi+ pi- in B meson decays, excluding the dominant decay mode, based on a large dataset collected with the Belle detector.
Contribution
It provides the first experimental evidence of the D1(2420) to D pi+ pi- decay mode, expanding understanding of D meson decay channels.
Findings
First observation of D1(2420) to D pi+ pi- decay.
Set upper limits for D2* and D1 decays to D(*) pi+ pi-.
Abstract
We report on the first observation of decays (where the contribution from the dominant known decay mode is excluded) in the decays. The observation is based on events collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB collider. We also set 90% confidence level upper limits for the and decays in the and decays, respectively.
