Direct CP Violation - Recent Results from Babar
A. Satpathy

TL;DR
This paper reports the first observation of direct CP violation in B meson decays, specifically in B0 to K+ pi- decays, using measurements from the BaBar detector, marking a significant advancement in understanding CP violation.
Contribution
It provides the first experimental evidence of direct CP violation in B meson decays, expanding the understanding of CP violation phenomena beyond mixing-induced effects.
Findings
First observation of direct CP violation in B0 to K+ pi- decays
Evidence of CP violation in multiple B decay modes
Results support the CKM mechanism of CP violation
Abstract
Measurements of the CKM parameter have established violation in the meson system arising from the interference between mixing and decay. However, direct CP violation, arising from the interference among different terms in the decay amplitude, had not been observed so far. We report a first observation of direct CP violation in decays with the BaBar detector. Other selected results based on the search for direct CP violation in several other B decays are also presented.
