Zornitza Daraktchieva (for the MUNU Collaboration)

TL;DR
The MUNU experiment sets a new upper limit on the magnetic moment of the electron antineutrino by analyzing elastic scattering data from a reactor source, improving constraints on neutrino electromagnetic properties.
Contribution
This study provides the most stringent experimental limit to date on the electron antineutrino magnetic moment using reactor-based elastic scattering measurements.
Findings
New upper limit on neutrino magnetic moment
Reactor-based elastic scattering data analyzed
Enhanced constraints on neutrino electromagnetic properties
Abstract
The MUNU experiment uses the electron antineutrino-electron elastic scattering to examine the magnetic properties of the electron antineutrino. The detector is situated at 18 m from the reactor, serving as an electron antineutrino source. Data corresponding to 66.6 days reactor-on and 16.7 days reactor-off are reported in this study .The electron recoil spectrum is obtained, using the visual scanning procedure. A new limit on the neutrino magnetic moment is derived.
