Studies of correlations between D and ${\bar D}$ mesons in high energy photoproduction
FOCUS Collaboration: J.M. Link, et al

TL;DR
This paper investigates the correlations between D and anti-D mesons in high-energy photoproduction to understand heavy quark production dynamics, using experimental data and comparisons with simulation models.
Contribution
It provides new experimental measurements of D and anti-D meson correlations in photoproduction and compares these results with theoretical predictions from Pythia.
Findings
Observed D-anti-D correlation patterns consistent with heavy quark production models
Identified contributions from $ ext{psi}(3770)$ production in the data
Compared experimental results with Pythia simulations to evaluate model accuracy
Abstract
Studies of correlations for a large sample of events containing fully and partially reconstructed pairs of charmed mesons recorded by the Fermilab photoproduction experiment FOCUS (FNAL-E831) are presented. Correlations between and mesons are used to study heavy quark production dynamics. We present results for fully and partially reconstructed charm pairs and comparisons to a recent version of \textsc{Pythia} with default parameter settings. We also comment on the production of in our data.
