Studies of Radiative Penguin B Decays at BaBar
John M. LoSecco (University of Notre Dame)

TL;DR
This paper reports on the observation of radiative penguin B meson decays at BaBar, which are sensitive to new physics beyond the standard model due to their loop-level nature.
Contribution
First measurements of penguin dominated radiative B decays at BaBar, providing data for testing the standard model and probing new physics.
Findings
Observation of radiative penguin B decays
Results consistent with standard model predictions
Potential implications for physics beyond the standard model
Abstract
We summarize results on a number of observations of penguin dominated radiative decays of the B meson. Such decays are forbidden at tree level and proceed via electroweak loops. As such they may be sensitive to physics beyond the standard model. The observations have been made at the BaBar experiment at PEP-II, the asymmetric B factory at SLAC.
