Production Asymmetry of $D_s$ from 600 GeV/c $\Sigma^-$ and $\pi^-$ beam
M. Kaya, et al (SELEX collaboration)

TL;DR
This study measures the asymmetry in $D_s$ meson production using 600 GeV/c $ m extSigma^-$ and $ m extpi^-$ beams, revealing the influence of beam composition on charm meson production.
Contribution
It provides the first detailed measurement of $D_s$ production asymmetry with $ m extSigma^-$ beams, highlighting the role of leading quark effects in charm production.
Findings
Significant asymmetry in $D_s$ production with $ m extSigma^-$ beam
Minimal asymmetry observed with $ m extpi^-$ beam
Results support leading quark model predictions
Abstract
The production of relative to as a function of with 600 GeV/c beam is measured in the interval by the SELEX (E781) experiment at Fermilab. The integrated charge asymmetries with 600 GeV/c beam () and beam () are also compared. The results show the beam fragments play a role in the production of , as suggested by the leading quark model.
