TL;DR
This paper reviews how charm meson decays are utilized to study light quark spectroscopy, focusing on scalar mesons, summarizing recent findings and discussing conceptual issues related to hadronic production.
Contribution
It provides a summary of recent experimental results on light scalar mesons from charm decays and discusses the conceptual relationship between charm decays and hadronic production.
Findings
Recent results on light scalar mesons from charm decays.
Discussion of conceptual issues in relating charm decays to hadronic production.
Insights into the spectroscopy of light quarks via charm meson decays.
Abstract
Weak decays of charm mesons has been used for studies of light quark spectroscopy, with particular emphasis on the J^{PC}=0^{++} states. Recent results on light scalars are summarized and some conceptual issues are discussed, especially the relation between charm decays and hadronic production.
