TL;DR
This paper presents initial results from the BaBar experiment, highlighting measurements of rare B meson decay modes using data collected in 2000, and discusses analysis techniques employed.
Contribution
First analysis of rare B decay modes using BaBar data, demonstrating the experiment's capability to explore B physics.
Findings
Measurement of several rare B decay modes
Development of analysis techniques for B decay data
Initial results from 2000 data collection
Abstract
Data from the first run of the BaBar detector at the PEP II accelerator are presented. Measurements of many rare B decay modes are now possible using the large data sets currently being collected by BaBar. An overview of analysis techniques and results on data collected in 2000 are described.
