Heavy Flavor in Photoproduction at HERA
L. Gladilin

TL;DR
This paper reviews recent measurements of charm and beauty photoproduction at HERA, highlighting discrepancies with perturbative QCD predictions and evidence for charm excitation processes.
Contribution
It provides new experimental results on heavy flavor photoproduction and discusses the role of charm excitation in these processes.
Findings
Measured cross sections exceed perturbative QCD predictions.
Forward region shows larger discrepancies.
Charm excitation processes are significant.
Abstract
Recent results on charm and beauty photoproduction at HERA are discussed. The perturbative QCD calculations are generally smaller than the measured cross sections, particularly in the forward (proton) direction. The study of charm dijet photoproduction is consistent with a significant contribution of charm excitation processes.
