Experimental Status of Photon Photon into Baryon Antibaryon Pairs
Teresa Barillari

TL;DR
This paper reviews experimental results on baryon-antibaryon pair production in photon-photon collisions at e+e- colliders, comparing measurements with quark-diquark model predictions and exploring future prospects with Monte Carlo simulations.
Contribution
It provides new experimental data on gamma gamma to baryon-antibaryon processes and compares these with theoretical models, including Monte Carlo studies for future experiments.
Findings
Cross-section measurements align with quark-diquark model predictions.
Experimental results for gamma gamma to proton antiproton and lambda antilambda are presented.
Monte Carlo studies suggest promising future measurements at PEP-N.
Abstract
The exclusive production of baryon antibaryon pairs in the collisions of two quasi-real photons have been studied in different experiments at e+e- colliders. Results are presented for the processes gamma gamma to proton antiproton and gamma gamma to lambda antilambda. The cross-section measurements are compared with the recent analytic calculations based on the quark-diquark model predictions. Monte Carlo studies have been done to investigate the PEP-N expectations for the gamma gamma to proton antiproton process.
