Jets and Event Shape Studies in ep-collisions at HERA
Roman Poeschl

TL;DR
This paper presents tests of perturbative QCD in deep inelastic scattering at HERA, analyzing event shapes and jet data to measure the strong coupling constant and explore non-perturbative effects.
Contribution
It provides new measurements of $mbda_s$ from jet data and investigates non-perturbative QCD aspects through event shape analysis.
Findings
Determined $mbda_s$ consistent with world averages
Analyzed event shapes to probe non-perturbative QCD
Validated perturbative QCD predictions at HERA energies
Abstract
The results of complementary tests of perturbative QCD in DIS at large centre-of-mass energies at HERA are presented. The analysis of event shape variables allows for the investigation of approaches to understand aspects of non-perturbative QCD such as the formation of the hadronic final state. The strong coupling constant, , is extracted from both inclusive jet cross sections and dijet rates and is found to be competitive with the world average.
