TL;DR
This paper reviews how colour reconnection affects W boson decay measurements in electron-positron collisions, emphasizing the importance of particle flow analysis for understanding model predictions and measurement accuracy.
Contribution
It provides a comprehensive review of colour reconnection effects in W decays and discusses their impact on W mass measurements at LEP.
Findings
Particle and energy flow analysis is sensitive to colour reconnection models.
Colour reconnection can bias W mass measurements.
Model predictions vary in their effects on observables.
Abstract
The studies of colour reconnection in e+e- -> WW -> 4 jets events at LEP are reviewed. It is shown that the analysis of the particle- and energy flow between jets is sensitive to realistic model predictions. The effects on the W mass measurement are discussed.
