New results on alpha_s and optimized scales
S. Bravo (Ifae)

TL;DR
This paper presents updated measurements of the strong coupling constant alpha_s from LEP data, comparing traditional and optimized scale methods, and discusses results from 4-jet rate analyses.
Contribution
It introduces a comparison between standard event-shape predictions and the Experimentally Optimized Scale method for alpha_s measurements at LEP.
Findings
Alpha_s results at LEP1 and LEP2 are summarized.
Comparison shows differences between conventional and optimized scale methods.
Alpha_s measurement from 4-jet rate is analyzed.
Abstract
A summary of the latest alpha_s results at LEP1 and LEP2 from event-shape predictions at Order(alpha2_s) + NLLA is presented. Later these are compared to measurements obtained using the Experimentally Optimized Scale method. Finally the alpha_s measurement from the 4-jet rate is discussed.
