Preliminary Results on Charmed Meson Spectroscopy
Shahzad Sarwar, et al. (on behalf of the FOCUS Coll.)

TL;DR
This paper presents preliminary measurements of the masses and widths of L=1 charm mesons D2*0 and D2*+, including the observation of a broad structure in the invariant mass distribution, contributing to understanding charm meson spectroscopy.
Contribution
It provides new experimental measurements of charm meson properties and reports the observation of a broad structure in the mass distribution, which was not previously characterized.
Findings
Measured masses and widths of D2*0 and D2*+ mesons
Identified a broad structure in the invariant mass distribution
Enhanced understanding of charm meson spectroscopy
Abstract
We report the preliminary measurement by the FOCUS Collaboration (E831 at Fermilab) of masses and widths of the L=1 charm mesons and . The fit of the invariant mass distribution requires an additional term to account for a broad structure over background.
