$B_s$ Mixing at SLD
Cheng-Ju Stephen Lin (representing the SLD Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports a preliminary 95% confidence level exclusion on the $B_s^0 - ar{B_s^0}$ mixing frequency using data from the SLD experiment, employing three different analysis methods to reconstruct and analyze B_s mesons.
Contribution
It introduces three novel analysis techniques for reconstructing B_s mesons and combines their results to set limits on the oscillation frequency.
Findings
Excluded $ ext{Δ}m_s$ values below 7.6 ps^{-1}
Excluded $ ext{Δ}m_s$ between 11.8 and 14.8 ps^{-1}
Used polarized Z^0 decays to determine B_s flavor at production
Abstract
We set a preliminary 95% C.L. exclusion on the oscillation frequency of mixing using a sample of 400,000 hadronic decays collected by the SLD experiment at the SLC during the 1996-98 run. Three analyses are presented in this paper. The first analysis partially reconstructs the by combining a fully reconstructed with the remaining charged B decay tracks. The second analysis selects a sample of events with a partially reconstructed charm vertex and a lepton track. The third analysis reconstructs b-hadrons topologically and exploits the cascade charge structure to determine the flavor of the b-hadron at decay. All three analyses take advantage of the large forward-backward asymmetry of the polarized decays and information in the hemisphere opposite to the reconstructed B vertex to determine the b-hadron flavor at…
