Search for QCD Instanton-Induced Processes in Deep-Inelastic Scattering at HERA
S. Mikocki (Institute of Nuclear Physics, Cracow, Poland, for the H1, Collaboration)

TL;DR
This paper reports on a search for QCD instanton-induced processes in deep-inelastic scattering at HERA, focusing on specific kinematic regions and hadronic final state characteristics to identify potential instanton signatures.
Contribution
It presents the first dedicated experimental search for QCD instantons in DIS at HERA using novel selection criteria based on expected final state features.
Findings
No significant instanton signal observed
Constraints set on instanton production cross section
Method demonstrates sensitivity to instanton signatures
Abstract
Preliminary H1 results on dedicated searches for QCD instanton induced processes in DIS are presented. The investigations are based on the expected characteristics of their hadronic final state. Searches were performed in the kinematical region x > 0.001, 0.1 < y < 0.6 and the polar angle of scattered positron greater than 156 degrees.
