The WA102 Collaboration, D. Barberis, et al

TL;DR
This paper reports a search for charmonium states produced in central proton-proton interactions at 450 GeV/c, finding no significant evidence and setting an upper limit on the chic production cross section.
Contribution
It provides the first upper limit measurement for chic(1P) production in central pp interactions at this energy.
Findings
No significant charmonium production observed.
Upper limit of 2 nb set for chic(1P) production cross section.
Constraints on charmonium production models at 450 GeV/c.
Abstract
A search for centrally produced charmonium states has been presented. There is no significant evidence for any charmonium production. An upper limit of 2 nb is found for the cross section of chic production using the decay chic(1P)-> J/psi gamma.
