CDF Collaboration: T. Affolder, et al

TL;DR
This paper reports measurements of the transverse momentum distribution and total cross section of electron-positron pairs in the Z-boson mass region from proton-antiproton collisions at 1.8 TeV, comparing results with QCD predictions.
Contribution
First measurement of e+e- pair transverse momentum and cross section in the Z-boson region at 1.8 TeV, with comparison to advanced QCD calculations.
Findings
Total cross section measured as 248 ± 11 pb.
Transverse momentum distribution agrees with QCD predictions.
Data supports gluon resummation formalism at low transverse momentum.
Abstract
The transverse momentum and total cross section of e^+e^- pairs in the Z-boson region of 66<M_{ee}<116 GeV from collisions at TeV are measured using 110 pb^{-1} of collisions taken by the Collider Detector at Fermilab during 1992-1995. The total cross section is measured to be pb. The differential transverse momentum cross section is compared with calculations that match quantum chromodynamics perturbation theory at high transverse momentum with the gluon resummation formalism at low transverse momentum.
