Removing Instrumental Artifacts: Suspension Violin Modes
Soma Mukherjee, Lee Samuel Finn

TL;DR
This paper presents a Kalman filter designed to identify and remove suspension violin mode artifacts from gravitational wave detector data, demonstrated on LIGO prototype data.
Contribution
The paper introduces a novel Kalman filter approach specifically for suspension violin mode artifact removal in gravitational wave data.
Findings
Effective identification of violin modes in LIGO data
Successful demonstration on LIGO 40M prototype data
Potential for improved gravitational wave signal clarity
Abstract
We describe the design of a Kalman filter that identifies suspension violin modes in an interferometric gravitational wave detectors data channel. We demonstrate the filter's effectiveness by applying it to data taken on the LIGO~40M prototype.
