TL;DR
This paper reviews calculations of the stress-energy tensor for scalar particles in various gravitational wave backgrounds, highlighting quantum fluctuations in these spacetime configurations.
Contribution
It consolidates previous work on quantum stress-energy tensor calculations for scalar particles in different gravitational wave backgrounds.
Findings
Quantum fluctuations depend on the type of gravitational wave.
Explicit expressions for stress-energy tensor components are provided.
Results enhance understanding of quantum effects in gravitational wave spacetimes.
Abstract
We review our previous work on the the calculation of the stress-energy tensor for a scalar particle in the background metric of different types of spherical impulsive, spherical shock and plane impulsive gravitational waves.
