TL;DR
This paper derives an exact static cylindrical solution in Brans-Dicke theory for the spacetime outside a global string, providing a precise metric description in this scalar-tensor gravity model.
Contribution
It presents the first closed-form solution for the exterior metric of a global string in Brans-Dicke theory, extending understanding of scalar-tensor gravitational effects around topological defects.
Findings

Abstract
We determine in closed form the general static solution with cylindrical symmetry to the Brans-Dicke equations for an energy-momentum tensor corresponding to the one of the straight U(1) global string outside the core radius assuming that the Goldstone boson field takes its asymptotic value
