TL;DR
This paper calculates the electromagnetic self-force on a linear current distribution in the spacetime of multiple cosmic strings, providing explicit solutions for certain configurations.
Contribution
It offers the first explicit solution for the electromagnetic self-force on a linear current in the spacetime of multiple cosmic strings.
Findings
Explicit solution for self-force when current is infinitely thin and aligned with strings
Demonstrates the effect of cosmic string spacetime on electromagnetic forces
Provides a foundation for studying electromagnetic phenomena near cosmic strings
Abstract
We calculate the electromagnetic self-force on a stationary linear distribution of four-current in the spacetime of multiple cosmic strings. It is shown that if the current is infinitely thin and stretched along a line which is parallel to the strings the problem admits an explicit solution.
