TL;DR
This paper extends the study of colliding gravitational waves to metric-affine gravity, providing exact solutions with specific symmetries and analyzing the resulting spacetime geometry after collision.
Contribution
It introduces a generalized formulation for colliding gravitational waves within metric-affine theories and presents explicit exact solutions with particular symmetry properties.
Findings
Exact solutions with five symmetries for colliding waves
Post-collision geometry has two spacelike Killing vectors
Demonstrates the feasibility of modeling wave collisions in metric-affine gravity
Abstract
We generalize the formulation of the colliding gravitational waves to metric-affine theories and present an example of such kind of exact solutions. The plane waves are equipped with five symmetries and the resulting geometry after the collision possesses two spacelike Killing vectors.
