Estimation of parameters of gravitational waves from coalescing binaries
R. Balasubramanian, S.V. Dhurandhar

TL;DR
This paper investigates the methods for estimating parameters of gravitational waves emitted by coalescing binary systems, addressing discrepancies between simulation approaches and including both post-Newtonian and Newtonian models.
Contribution
It introduces an analysis of parameter estimation techniques for gravitational waves, highlighting differences between Monte Carlo simulations and covariance matrix methods, with models spanning Newtonian and post-Newtonian regimes.
Findings
Identified discrepancies between Monte Carlo simulations and covariance matrix estimates.
Compared Newtonian and post-Newtonian models in parameter estimation.
Provided insights into the accuracy of different estimation methods.
Abstract
The paper deals with the estimation of parameters of gravitational waves from coalescing binaries. It explains the discrepancy between the Monte carlo simulations and the covariance matrix. We include the post-Newtonian as well as the Newtonian case.
