An Extension of Multiple Cosmic String Solution: A Proposal
M. Hortacsu, N. Ozdemir

TL;DR
This paper extends cosmic string solutions to more general metrics, demonstrating that one-loop quantum corrections do not introduce new divergences in the energy of scalar particles, with explicit calculations for combined string configurations.
Contribution
It introduces a broader class of locally flat metrics for cosmic strings and shows that quantum corrections remain divergence-free in these cases.
Findings
One-loop calculations do not add divergences to scalar energy in extended metrics.
Explicit analysis performed for a cosmic string with a cosmic string dipole.
Supports stability of extended cosmic string configurations.
Abstract
We extend the work done for cosmic strings and show that for a more general class of locally flat metrics the one loop calculation do not introduce any new divergences to the VEV of the energy of a scalar particle. We explicitly perform the calculation for the configuration where we have one cosmic string in the presence of a dipole made out of cosmic strings.
