Flat wormholes from straight cosmic strings
G\'erard Cl\'ement

TL;DR
This paper analytically constructs flat Wheeler-Misner wormholes generated by cosmic strings with specific tensions, expanding the understanding of wormhole configurations in cosmic string spacetimes.
Contribution
It introduces a new class of flat Wheeler-Misner wormhole solutions derived from straight cosmic strings with particular tensions.
Findings
Wheeler-Misner wormholes can be generated by cosmic strings with tension -1/4G.
The solutions are asymptotically Minkowskian and analytically extendable.
The paper provides detailed analysis of the wormhole configurations.
Abstract
Special multi-cosmic string metrics are analytically extended to describe configurations of Wheeler-Misner wormholes and ordinary cosmic strings. I investigate in detail the case of flat, asymptotically Minkowskian, Wheeler-Misner wormhole spacetimes generated by two cosmic strings, each with tension .
