TL;DR
This paper analyzes a specific exact solution in Einstein-massless scalar theory, revealing it satisfies energy conditions but features a strong globally naked singularity, contributing to understanding gravitational singularities.
Contribution
It provides a detailed examination of the Janis-Newman-Winicour solution, highlighting its energy condition compliance and the nature of its naked singularity, which was not fully characterized before.
Findings
Solution satisfies weak energy condition
Features a strong globally naked singularity
Enhances understanding of scalar field gravitational solutions
Abstract
We study the static and spherically symmetric exact solution of the Einstein-massless scalar equations given by Janis, Newman and Winicour. We find that this solution satisfies the weak energy condition and has strong globally naked singularity.
