TL;DR
This paper challenges a previous theorem on Ricci collineations in static spherically symmetric spacetimes by providing a counterexample and clarifying misconceptions in earlier work.
Contribution
It offers a counterexample to a known theorem and corrects misleading statements in prior research on Ricci collineations.
Findings
Provided a counterexample to the theorem by Amir et al.
Clarified misconceptions in the previous literature.
Highlighted the need for revisiting existing results.
Abstract
We present a counter example to a theorem given by Amir {\em et al.} J. Math. Phys. {\bf 35}, 3005 (1994). We also comment on a misleading statements of the same reference.
