Particle Creation If a Cosmic String Snaps
A. H. Bilge, M. Hortacsu, N. Ozdemir

TL;DR
This paper investigates particle creation during the snapping of a cosmic string by calculating Bogolubov coefficients, finding no particle production under certain conditions.
Contribution
It provides a detailed calculation of particle creation in a dynamic cosmic string spacetime and shows that no particles are created if specific matching conditions are met.
Findings
No particle creation occurs under the matching conditions.
The calculation clarifies the conditions for particle production in cosmic string dynamics.
The results depend on the interpretation of the quantum field and the matching conditions.
Abstract
We calculate the Bogolubov coefficients for a metric which describes the snapping of a cosmic string. If we insist on a matching condition for all times {\it and} a particle interpretation, we find no particle creation.
