On a possible solution for the Polonyi problem in string cosmology
M. C. Bento, O. Bertolami

TL;DR
This paper explores a cosmological model involving dilaton, metric, and Yang-Mills fields, proposing a new energy exchange mechanism that could resolve the Polonyi problem in string cosmology.
Contribution
It introduces a novel energy exchange term between the dilaton and Yang-Mills fields that may solve the Polonyi problem in 4D string models.
Findings
Identification of a new energy exchange term
Potential solution to the Polonyi problem
Analysis of homogeneous and isotropic configurations
Abstract
We establish the main features of homogeneous and isotropic dilaton, metric and Yang-Mills configurations in a cosmological framework. We identify a new energy exchange term between the dilaton and the Yang-Mills field which may lead to a possible solution to the Polonyi problem in 4-dimensional string models.
