O. Bertolami, P.V. Moniz

TL;DR
This paper explores how massive vector fields with certain symmetries influence the decoherence process in quantum cosmology, offering an alternative to scalar field models in minisuperspace frameworks.
Contribution
It introduces a novel model replacing scalar fields with massive vector fields to study decoherence in quantum cosmology.
Findings
Demonstrates the impact of massive vector fields on decoherence processes.
Provides a new perspective on classical behavior emergence in quantum cosmology.
Suggests potential differences in cosmological models with vector versus scalar fields.
Abstract
Retrieval of classical behaviour in quantum cosmology is usually discussed in the framework of minisuperspace models in the presence of scalar fields together with the inhomogeneous modes either of the gravitational or of the scalar fields. In this work we propose alternatively a model where the scalar field is replaced by a massive vector field with global or SO(3) symmetries.
