A reinterpretation of the Taub singularity
Bjorn Jensen, Jarom\'ir Ku\v{c}era

TL;DR
This paper reexamines the Taub singularity using cylindrical symmetry, revealing the presence of structures analogous to Einstein-Rosen bridges and cosmic strings within this geometric framework.
Contribution
It introduces a new interpretation of the Taub singularity through cylindrical symmetry, connecting it to known structures like Einstein-Rosen bridges and cosmic strings.
Findings
Identification of a cylindrical analog to the Einstein-Rosen bridge.
Presence of a cosmic string in the reinterpreted geometry.
New geometric perspective on the Taub singularity.
Abstract
We reinterpret the well known Taub-singularity in terms of a cylinder symmetric geometry. It is shown that a cylindrical analog to the Einstein-Rosen bridge as well as a cosmic string will be present in the geometry.
