No New Symmetries of the Vacuum Einstein Equations
Riccardo Capovilla

TL;DR
This paper analyzes proposed solutions to the linearized vacuum Einstein equations and demonstrates they do not represent true symmetries due to an essential integrability condition.
Contribution
It clarifies the nature of certain solutions, showing they are not genuine symmetries of the Einstein equations, correcting previous assumptions.
Findings
Proposed solutions are not actual symmetries.
An integrability condition prevents these solutions from being symmetries.
Clarifies the structure of solutions to the vacuum Einstein equations.
Abstract
In this note we examine some recently proposed solutions of the linearized vacuum Einstein equations. We show that such solutions are {\it not} symmetries of the Einstein equations, because of a crucial integrability condition.
