Closed timelike geodesics in a gas of cosmic strings
Oyvind Gron, Steinar Johannesen

TL;DR
This paper presents solutions to Einstein's equations describing spacetime around a spinning cosmic string with surrounding non-spinning strings, demonstrating the existence of closed timelike geodesics in such configurations.
Contribution
It introduces a new class of exact solutions involving spinning and non-spinning cosmic strings and shows these solutions admit closed timelike geodesics.
Findings
Existence of closed timelike geodesics in the constructed spacetime
Spacetime modeled outside a spinning cosmic string with surrounding non-spinning strings
New exact solutions to Einstein's field equations
Abstract
We find a class of solutions of Einstein's field equations representing spacetime outside a spinning cosmic string surrounded by a gas of non-spinning cosmic strings, and show that there exist closed timelike geodesics in this spacetime.
